Solar Micro Cold Store


SAT offers an Innovative cost-effective and green perishable storage, Micro Cold Store- a solar-powered cold storage system. Today a million tons of cold storage capacity is required to prevent the over 30% wastage of perishable produce. The current facilities are accessible only to the big farmers/middlemen who hoard when supplies peak, leading to huge price fluctuations. The bottom of the pyramid (BOP) i.e. the small farmer loses out, as they have to sell their produce at very low prices right after harvest.
Solar Micro Cold Store designed for the rural segment and small farmers to serves their needs ideally, as it does not depend on grid electricity and after a 2-year breakeven leads to over 40% increase in their profits. This innovative product can be suitably adapted to local conditions across the world. Maintenance Expenses: As our end users are farmers hence the system designed in a very innovative way so that farmers will be free from hassles of maintenance activity. Only one precaution need to be taken those solar panels needs to be clean with water every 15-20 days in order to remove the dust from the solar panel for higher efficiency.
Energy Storage: Thermal plates will provide the back up to 24- 30 hours. The design of the system is hybrid, automatically first it will draw the power from our thermal plates back up, then depending upon the requirement; it will switch over to on grid connectivity automatically.
Storage Capacity: of the system is 5 - 8 MT depending upon the size and shape of the commodity. We are having only one standard design of 5 - 8 MT Capacity. Temp Range: It can maintain the temp range from +4 to +10 Deg C.
Pre Cooling: The pre-cooling capacity of the system with solar energy is 500 KG for a day. Suppose we have store the first load of 500 kg commodity in morning by 6-8 AM, then the pre-cooling cycle will get complete by 6-7 hours’ time. Thus with the only solar energy, we can pre-cool 500 Kg of a commodity every day(loading of 500 KG every day) however with ON Grid Source of energy we can cool 1000 kg of the commodity in a day in two batch cycle. The system storage capacity is 5 Ton. Area required for installation; 300Sqft shadow-free area.
Portability: The dimension of our system is 20 ft X8 ft X 8 ft, in future as and when we have to shift the system from one location to another location, then simply we have to put the entire compact system in 20 ft truck for relocation, and we can installed system at new place comfortably in 2-3 days. A great advantage, as many times end user intends to change the location of the system which is not possible with the conventional cold storage system.
Solar Panel Warranty: Solar Panel-Output wattage, will not be less than 90% at the end of 10 years and 80% at the end of 25 years.
Carbon emission by installing solar cold room, we can contribute to reducing the global warming which is the need of the hour for every individual.
